Bio? You expect me to fill out a bio? Nice try, FBI.

When you experience a modicum of success in life, it’s easy to fall into the mindset that this means the system is fair, your success is entirely the result of your own intelligence and hard work, and those without success just must’ve not tried hard enough.
The long-documented phenomenon of people grossly underestimating how large the income ratio is between the median earner and the 1% also plays a large role. It makes it easier to think of oneself as economically closer to the 1% than the bottom 25% even though by raw numbers and ratios they’re way closer to the latter than the former.

Oh yeah I’m getting a dedicated midi box. I don’t have the smarts to go mucking around in open-source code to make it happen, and the dedicated box has its own software for adjusting CC numbers and other relevant settings.

Mostly just soft influencing, social media campaigns, some money laundering to fund political organizations they think fit their goals. However, I don’t think they’re doing it to a level that’s more than typical for a country with their level of resources. Which is to say, there’s a lot of countries influencing American politics and many of them are doing it more successfully than Russia.

I am planning on getting a fader box to use with my DAW for parameter controls. Looking at the one you posted, given it’s running on open source software it could probably be programmed to send out MIDI CC messages instead of application volume.

Andrew needs a one way ticket to
you can’t get a job unless your bilingual most of the time in the United States
Ah yes, very few employed monolingual people in America. These fuckers will hallucinate the most ridiculous fever dreams just to keep that constant “everyone who isn’t like me has it so much easier than me” victim hood whining.
I’m sure my Russian friend who absolutely loathes Trump would love to hear that.

First thought: it’d be really funny for someone to do a selfie in the tent with a strategically placed squib on them.
Second thought: it’s the weekend before Christmas, don’t these people have shopping and decorating and making Christmas cookies to do? I swear the people who do the most kvetching about the death of “traditional” culture are the ones who take the least joy in those festivities.

Yeah the late 90’s/early aughts had a lot of mediocre comedians and entertainers coasting on “oooh they’re not supposed to say that” in lieu of actual humor. I think it died out not so much out of political correctness, but rather it didn’t get a rise out of millennials who were seeing much worse on the internet on a regular basis.

According to Wikipedia, The Chemical Brothers run a Juno 106 through one which sounds bonkers.

The Left in Canada and Norway Do.
Norway’s sovereign wealth fund divested from fossil fuels you twit.
Electric trains work extremely well, but a majority of America’s freight lines rely on diesel, and building the infrastructure to electrify them would require time and money that has not yet been spent.
Building out new infrastructure is hard and kinda sounds like something those Chinese socialists would do so let’s just run our existing, dilapidated infrastructure into the ground and let the next generation figure it out when it all implodes.

That was the best part about the Xiaohongshu migration, watching all the Americans realizing in real time just how wrong their conception of China was

A few weeks back I ran across this video debunking Musk’s tweet about declining fertility rates causing the collapse of the Roman Empire. The debunk was straightforward, both the WRE and the ERE had declining fertility but one collapsed and the other didn’t. However, it went farther than that and talked about how the differences in the political economy in the west of the empire and the east affected the shifts and changes in the wake of the crisis of the third century and how that played into one side collapsing and Balkanizing while the other stayed in tact. It was an explanation I hadn’t heard before, and was well rooted in historical materialism.

Love how half the responses are “You, good sir, are no Ronald Reagan” and the other half are “Reagan was a ghoul why are you glazing him?” and absolutely no one is approving of his sentiment.

To get Bushart jailed, Weems allegedly collaborated with an investigator, Jason Morrow, to omit a key detail from the affidavit that served as the entire basis of his arrest. Morrow supposedly left out the fact that the meme referred to a 2024 school shooting, allegedly helping Weems manufacture probable cause. Including that detail would’ve made Bushart’s arrest less likely, as the reviewing magistrate—a nonlawyer who has no legal education—would’ve possibly understood that cops were trying to arrest Bushart for protected speech, his complaint said.
As much as the justice system in urban areas can be systematically brutal, there’s something uniquely fucked up about the small town “he ain’t got no learnin’ to run a court, but he’s good folk” version of it.

Time to play the game, are they intentionally dishonest? Or are they so lacking in grey matter they don’t get he’s making fun of Bari?

Liberals will whine “why do red state voters keep voting for Republicans when they get low QoL out of them!” but then pearl clutch over the idea of having a political system that actually punishes politicians for poor QoL outcomes.

No lie detected
A quick onion dice is actually pretty straightforward
Back when I wasn’t so fucking old, I had gotten some cookbooks that were aimed at the “first apartment” or “college dorm cooking,” distinctly aimed at people dealing with cooking for themselves. Those had good, simple recipes, not a lot of prep but got the essential nutrients and calories in you. Not sure if there’s any cooking websites out there like that, although I have to imagine you could
those cookbooks.
Also, will echo @NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net on the old Good Eats episodes, those are a gold mine.
