How did liberals forget the rapidly escalating shelling of Ukrainian cities by the Ukrainian government that finally provoked Russia’s intervention? This isn’t secret information. It was obvious that this was meant to force a Russian invasion. The only mystery is why Zelensky did it. Even this has an extremely likely explanation. He was involved in a globe spanning financial scandal and in exchange for starting the war he was given immunity from prosecution.
How is anybody finding a way to tell a positive story about this psychopath? I feel like I’m going crazy and all I’m doing is looking at the information from their own news sources.
Lib media reported on it until the blackout on all history caused by Russia finally reacting. I say it a lot but the US has a collective memory of 6 months at best.

They didn’t forget. If you bring this up they’ll either block their ears and call you an evil Putler bot or smugly tell you that actually Russia started everything by sneaking into Ukraine and forcing the referenda in the east, so actually Russia started it anyway even in 2014.
(Though being completely fair, Russia’s blatant lying about having troop involvement in the early stages of the civil war doesn’t help their case at all on this front. It’s hard to have people believe that one wasn’t involved while trying to hide the obvious troops)

I think he’d gain too little and lose too much by swinging for the fences on this one. The foreign policy propaganda is too strong and it would jeopardize his ability to critique domestic policy.

Although it’s interesting because the guys from Boy Boy made a video a year into the SMO explaining everything from an anti-NATO perspective and it seems like it didn’t really hamper their growth much. I guess their audience probably is open-minded enough that they’d rather accept the heterodox view than sever the parasocial relationship if they’re libs.

The propaganda is pretty powerful here, at least regarding Ukraine. On a lot of things I find that people are willing to say “America’s on its bullshit again” regardless of their other political views, but they will “independently” come to anti-china views.

Well, this war was a pretty fucked up move from Russia, even if provoked by USA and NATO.
Russia already fucked up when NATO was blatantly arming Ukraine for 7 years and turning it into one of the most effective military in Europe and Russia still naively tried to hang on to the Minsk agreement. The Ukrainian army could not even beat the LPR/DPR militias back in 2015.
So many more people are now dead because of this naivete.
