Here was the transphobic content I was “defending":
But seriously, you guys (cause you’re 95℅ guys lets be honest), arent half as intelligent as you think you are.
“You guys” meant Hexbear. The full context is a little longer and stupider than that (And the user’s comment I was allegedly defending was actually way-out-of pocket aside from the “you guys” part. It was encouraging Hexbear users to commit suicide, but just in a way that had nothing to do with transphobia as far as I can tell.) Anyway that was the “transphobic” part. I suspect that the actual issue was me being extensively rude to Cowbee, and they are lying about what the real issue is and calling things “transphobia” as they often do.
In any case. To quote @db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com: “In all honestly it reads to me you’re more upset people are not sufficiently polite in disagreement. Anarchists can and will be rude … Nobody is under any onus to remain polite to spare your feelings”

I wish more of us (me) were in there posting like you, I would greatly prefer that we ditch the “dirtbag left” and “bullying works” entirely and focus on medium to high effort posting on the libs.
As you mentioned some of them lose their minds completely, but we have to remember that it makes you look good to the audience when that happens.
I appreciate the kind words, but I actually think some people do respond better to shame than calm refutation. I think diversifying strategy works best, personally. I will say, though, my strategy has at least gotten through to some people that otherwise seemed apprehensive.
If it helps at all, the responses you gave made my entry into Hexbear a lot more easy, even if it doesn’t show a lot of people are influenced
Thanks, that does help! Everyone that thanks me does help me mentally, I’m a bit simple like that.
I would say “Thanks for your service :sankara-solute:” if I wasn’t on a client
On platforms like this its more about the audience than the person you’re actually talking too. The calm and patient explaining comes across much better. Let the others seethe.
Fully agreed, which is why I know it works!
you heard it here folks, bullying is back on the menu
True, maybe I’d say we should be more tactical about deploying a ppb dogpile. I’d like to see a bit more discipline.
I don’t like the PPB because it’s just too gross for me. I see enough shit in my daily life I don’t need to see it here. I understand it makes libs upset. But it makes me upset having to see a giant dookie.
We can have a little PPB, as a treat
Gotta mix it up!
you need both. sometimes cussing someone out is what gets across that we actually care about this stuff while staying calm 100% of the time can look like how liberals talk about things.
Agreed!
For the most part you get banned anyway. E.g. me getting banned yesterday from 196 @ blahaj:
We mostly bully over at hexbear because it’s a safe space that shouldn’t get contaminated with imperialism and transphobia, people are more reasonable when the takes aren’t wildly immoral.
