I refuse to discount Bernie (and to a lesser degree AOC) on one major thing, Bernie has been a “gateway drug” for many actual leftists, myself included… even if he himself is a mushy socdem.
The worst thing is that as things currently stand, Ben Gvir has a decent chance at becoming Prime Minister after Bennie. And unlike Netanyahu, he doesn’t even care to hide being an absolute hyper-religious Zionist psychopath.
He openly admits to supporting torture and execution of Gentiles.
I went out with an Indian lady for years and still have Indian friends (in India) via our relationship with her, and this is of course totally anecdotal, but I was told that the government had hoped for a nationalist response but most people are terrified of ACTUALLY going to war with Pakistan, and men are seriously discussing fleeing to Europe/North America (for the wealthy) or neighboring nations (for the average poor). This isn’t what the Modi regime had hoped for.
