As much as I love things like satire, subtext, subtlety, allegory and allusion I am beginning to feel that their use in anything meant to be remotely popular is problematic and this sort of reinforces that. It seems like you need the most overt ham fisted cudgel over the head plots with wholly unlikeable, physically unattractive people as the baddies and beautiful dumb as rocks people as the “heroes” to spout unambiguous cliche one liners in order for the thing to not be grossly misunderstood by the average American. Like Team America was just straight taken unironically as a “we should really do that” blueprint instead of a criticism-by-edgelords satire. No need for parody, we already live in one. SMH.

Dude straight up gives Christian Bale in that one movie where he chops people up in a raincoat to music vibes, except he’s not a fictional character. Unfortunately. REALLY unfortunately.

I love it when people take a really tenuous correlation and inflate it to “x cures y” (I don’t actually love it).

Did he do this? I would not be surprised at all but the second I see/hear the guy I tune out. Had to endure him since Politically Incorrect and holy shit I just can’t even with him anymore.

My main issue with Denzel has always been that he’s so good that all the other actors look wooden in comparison.

I’ve never even really spent much time on Reddit except for the occasional search result pointing at a thread answering a Linux question or suchlike and I STILL am glad Hexbear exists. I tried a couple Lemmy instances and quickly abandoned ship (holy fucking lib slop) but not before I noticed the hate being heaped on the so called “tankies” of Hexbear et al. who seemed to me to have the most informed and reasonable responses to a given topic. So here I am and here I shall stay. Every thread confirms it.

Highly recommend wet shaving with old style replaceable blades and shaving soap. Canned foam goo is a crime against skin. I can recommend brands but don’t want to sound like a shaving commercial. I just detest the present day shaving experience since I have a ridiculous beard and super sensitive skin.

That’s a whole lot of No.2 right there.
