God that’s a lot to deal with. You’re up against the clock in a shit job market where they’re looking for seniors not your level. The working culture is horrible and it’s heavily male which puts you at disadvantage. If women do t fit the working culture then the working culture needs to change.

Working with narcissists who can’t cope with ego bruising is exhausting. You end up having to clean up the shit they cause and get it in the neck from other people. It’s a nightmare culture and no wonder you’re feeling exhausted and pissed off.

How’s the job hunting going?

I’m seeing my friend this weekend which I’m really looking forward to. I’m also reading a good book which I can’t wait to read more of

I’m zero contact with my anti gay mother which is 100% right for me. It’s not nice, but it’s better than being anywhere near her. Mothers day grinds on me, but at the same time I love that we’re recognising the hard graft mothers do! Parenting is the most important job anyone can ever do, and it deserves a day for it

I’m very much a home bird and always have been. It means a lot to me, and I put a lot of time and money into making it nice. To me my home is my safe space, and I always used to dream of having one. I don’t like being away from it.

I’ve been training loads so my arms are really toned! I’ve got a great shape and limited bingo wings.

I have big lovely disney princess eyes with long lashes! I can look doe eyed sometimes, which I really like. I’ve also got a little mole near my eye that’s an actual beauty spot!

I’ve got really graceful, elegant fingers. People sometimes ask if I used to play piano because they’re perfect for it!

Also, I’m here. Age is a gift not everyone is given, and although I’m officially middle aged I know I’m lucky to be here.

I’m scared for the LGBT community. I’m horribly upset for trans people as they’re being attacked from all angles. I’m scared for me, because a lot of the arguments people are using about trans used to be used against LGB. They’re coming for us next.

It also effects women’s rights. A lot of anti trans people IME are misogynistic too… it’s ludicrous to suggest men spewing bile about trans people in women’s bathrooms care about women. They don’t.

The way I’m dealing with it is by volunteering in my local LGBT group, and educating myself on LGBT DA so I can help my LGBT clients. I also started this group so at least women have a nice women’s space to hang out in on lemmy.

It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done
