7·1 day agoIts kinda cool that the villain in Sinners is spurring these conversations about forced assimilation / colonization to happen.

when a person becomes a vampire they are cut off from their ancestors / descendants, so people are saying its unfair and cruel that Remmick never gets to reconnect. I get to explain how that tragedy reflects the reality of assimilation into whiteness / patriarchy, and via fanonian theory – replicates that violence upon others.
I think people relate to his emptiness, they see themselves reflected. They want him to be reunited, and I hope that desire fuels them to do it themselves.
