A summit of leaders from the BRICS group of major emerging economies kicks off in Brazil Sunday – but without the top leader of its most powerful member.

Mabe the rumours of him losing power are true? Does the CCP have a statement?

If he was busy, then he/they don’t think that BRICS summits are very important.

Not really. I watch some utubers Chinese expats who’ve been throwing the rumour around, So I was trying to call corroborate.

Now I think that skipping the BRICS summit was likely a silly faced saving ploy because Modi was already in a state visit, or is a Chinese move to distance themselves from BRICS (the Chinese might not need it)

I am an amateur on the topic though.

i highly doubt the Chinese are backing out of BRICS… it’s the main alternative to SWIFT
