I finally got around to seeing “I Saw The TV Glow”, and it definitely lived up to the hype.

sexual identity is weird because labels ostensibly have definitions but like, what terms to I “identify” with? what terms actually feel that, when said, represent me? somehow I identify with the terms straight, bi, and lesbian all at the same time, which just feels like being bi with extra steps, but that’s just what tickles my brain in the right way

I fuck with a lot of different terms for my gender and my sexuality too. I think that’s okay.

I think it’s important to remember that it is NOT the case that there is some true essence within us that we need to discover and name with the term that “properly corresponds” to it. Rather, all these terms just help us to make sense of our experience, communicate that experience with others, and find community - there’s nothing deeper than that. If straight, bi, and lesbian all feel right, then they are all right.
