I’m starting to think these people just hallucinated what they think New Vegas is and are getting mad about it. Like, the Wild Wasteland perk literally just makes the game like this, never mind Old World Blues, an entire DLC of goofy nonsense.

How much of the New Vegas players actually did multiple playthroughs or explored around the game, instead of just running into Caesars Legion and thinking it’s the coolest thing ever, always picking the most racist options avaiable in the dialogue tree. Then forgot about the game and consumed it through youtube video essays, that match their ideology, so they have a completely different expectation on what the TV series should be like.

They are still gonna watch the series so it’s a W for capitalists no matter what the reason they watch it is. There is no profit in being loved.

Weird sexism aside, I don’t disagree with the sentiment of the “THAT HAPPENED” script writing that is so prevalent these days. It immediately turns me off if it exists in a show.

Its much different from the “THAT HAPPENED” type dialogue, but it IS just as weird and quirky as New Vegas’ writing, which just proves further that everyone trying to dunk on the show for this is a fucking tourist.

The show is very mediocre, but the clip in question fits the series.

I haven’t seen it, the new season is out now? Might take a look. First was surprisingly OKAY. Not as terrible as I thought it’d be.

Oh no I think season 2 starts in january or something. They just released this clip within the last day or two for promo.

I am very much in the camp that season 1 was just fine.

Yeah, they went “all the factions suck, actually” - which I guess is better than thinking the Brotherhood of Steel are the Good Guys of the setting. That kind of listless nihilism does just lead to implicitly having to decide who the least bad is and why it’s okay that they do a little less fascism than the rest.

…but now that I think about it, I don’t really remember much of it either. Such a shame, the prop work was awesome - I’d have watched ten episodes of “Propmasters Make Fallout Stuff”.

Is “quirk chungus” just a female coded “reddit guy”? Either way this is clearly shifting the blame for this kind of dialogue off of its actual originator, Joss Whedon.

Imagine watching a show you don’t enjoy just to get mad at it

No, seriously, why do people do this?

I stopped watching The Last of Us after two episodes (don’t worry, it’spirate-jammin ) because it wasn’t good, then people told me I had to watch the third one and I didn’t care for that one either so I stopped.

Your life will only improve if you do this

The third episode of season 1 is actually brilliant though. Rest of the series, meh. Loved the games, and I think season 1 is one of the better adaptations of video games to TV/film, but season 2 was borked as hell. You’re not missing anything.

This might be a simplistic take, but for me at least the main issue with western art at this point is that it is poisoned by neoliberalism, not even liberalism. And liberals don’t have a robust understanding of their own worldview, like they’re lying to themselves, or that their worldview is one of convenience which in turn reflects in their art. So it sucks but obviously bigots gonna be bigots and blame it on poc representation or whatever, and in this case blame it one women, which is depressingly stupid (as in the stupidity makes me depressed).

There’s nothing wrong with turning into the weird echoes of our parents as age and experience turns our skin to leather and our thoughts drift like dandelion seeds. So what if along the way you get quirked up and adopt a pet? Maybe meet someone who shares the wavelength you’re on?

This meme is just taking the meanest, least charitable look at a thing we’re all gonna go through.

Incels are beyond pathetic. Imagine thinking “having a sense of humour” is somehow a negative in a woman. Though I guess they only want women to exist as pure sexual objects, so literally any sort of personality is the threat to them. No idea why they hate the guy though, probably just jealous of literally any guy in a relationship and make up reasons why that is actually bad.

They always have this obsession with getting laid and forming a relationship, but their entire worldview makes both of those completely impossible. It’s like a controlling manipulative cult, except without a centralised leader.

        Man Child

…that actually sounds closer to a superficial description of a Daoist Sage.

Running with that idea: With incels lacking inner peace*, they might find it confusing to encounter people who express some kind of comfort in their self and don’t define it through power displays?

*though inner peace is possibly the wrong word - coherence perhaps? assurance? Not being at peace doesn’t make someone an asshole. But that’s the limit of an off-the-cuff analogy!

Literally just internet cool kids trying to dunk on “the nerds”.

Like I’ve actually been around those people. Chillest MFs you’ll ever meet. The WORST thing about them is that they’re “uncool”, and that’s unironically what sets these types off. They hate them for literally not being “cool”.

These types love to portray themselves as true geeks but will take any opportunity to punch down on actual nerds and geeks because they’re all just failed jocks.

Which is hilarious, because the incel types are always trying to look “cool” in social situations and are always the most uncool person in the room. Someone being a tryhard is always going to be less cool than someone who is just enjoying themselves.

The “manchild” is also kind of a massive hole in incel logic. The “manchild” is a nerd in a loving relationship. I’d also wager they have friends and are just trying to live their life…and this makes incels crash out.

Yeah, I thought incels saw themselves as manchildren because of “society” or the wamens forcing them to spend all day watching shitty harem anime instead of actually interacting with other humans. But it turns out being a manchild actually means being a mature adult in a long term relationship.

Can’t wait to tell future generations fighting to survive that people used to engage in activism over their adaptions of their favourite ip and not mitigating the misery we are putting them through.
