It’s important to keep telling new/expecting parents that they can request the Hep B vaccine at birth. Hopefully insurance companies will continue to cover this vaccine like they have been with COVID and the other vaccines that have been affected by ACIP changes. As long as these vaccines are still approved by the FDA…
We all should not have to do this type of advocacy for public health. These decisions are designed to affect marginalized people the most. It is our moral duty to tell people what they can do (ie, vaccinate their children against preventable diseases). This is a fear tactic, a mealymouthed way of getting people to believe vaccines are illegal or will hurt their children.
Please, if you know expecting parents tell them this. Tell them they can get Covid vaccines for their kids too, since so many people believe they are outlawed for kids now (they aren’t in the vast majority of circumstances). Tell them they can request things from their doctors and request other doctors if theirs is a nurgle physician.
Please also mask up for our disabled, young, and immunocompromised comrades.
