i dont really doubt that there are ethnic tensions of some kind in xinjiang (in what place are there not in this hellworld?) but genocide is very different from social transgressions
I kinda doubt it just because I’ve seen people walking the streets there and asking uyghurs if they have any complaints about China or if they’re aware of any mistreatment of themselves or their family or friends and just getting a bunch of “wtf are you even talking about dude” looks
like if you walk the streets of detroit and ask 100 black people these same questions you’ll get 1000 very detailed complaints about everything from the government to the corporations to the average person, but in xinjiang you can’t get shit
