And his general behaviour, even once he was no longer a student, keeping odd hours, drinking to excess, infrequently washing or changing his linens, ignoring all else in favour of his present hyperfixation, needing monetary support from a comrade because he struggled to hold down a job or even do temporary paid work… I know at least one autistic person who’s exactly like that today, minus the drinking to excess because she doesn’t drink at all - family history of alcohol issues, past addictive personality shown with less dangerous but similar substances, she’s just not going to risk it.
