Think this social theory is starting to become outdated. In the past, yes certain aesthetics would correlate strongly with certain beliefs. But not anymore I’ve found, society is moving away from it, slowly but surely. Plenty of women with piercings and artificially coloured hair who are socially conservative and go to church every Sunday. Plenty of “plain looking” dudes (no tattoos, no piercings and an ordinary haircut) who are very socially progressive and spend all weekend partying.

In other words, what I’m trying to say is don’t judge a book by it’s cover and don’t listen to these silly youtubers. Genuinely talk to people, and they’ll reveal a lot about themselves that may conflict with whatever pre conceived idea you had based on their appearance.

I’ll take that as a compliment.

It me. Granted I don’t have the money to dress nice so all my clothes are from walmart and are hand me downs.

Saw someone at the recent protests with carabiners hanging in their gauge holes and notecards hanging from those with “fuck ice” written on them. Incredible dedication to the bit lol I’m not a cool punk so I hadn’t seen that before. Love when people get creative with their piercings

Edit: oh right I was gunna make a point. They got a ton of compliments from the older crowd; I just love when people aren’t aSSholes about that stuff

Genz and Gen Alpha men are often very very very far right with many being fucking neo nazis and groypers who HATE gay people, women, trans people, etc. This isn’t a yank thing only, I live in Ireland and they’re like that here too.

I think the manosphere and shit plus the imminent demise of neoliberal capitalism and the collapse of western dominance has combined to make these young men incredibly reactionary

It seems more like younger gen z fits that description while older gen z is more “woke.” It’s spread from US social media and the obsessive use that the youth have. I say this all the time but it’s no coincidence they all have the same talking points as people like Charlie Kirk and hate the same people.

Those generations are more left-wing in my country but the political climate here is very different from the rest of the West. Even then they still don’t like lgbt. It was just that much worse with previous generations.

I think we’re seeing a polar reversal of the old conventional wisdom that people get more conservative as they get older. Now, it’s the teens and early 20-somethings that fall into the manosphere/trad wife content hole as it provides them with this vision of being alpha/sigma, not cringe. Just follow this recipe and chad status is guaranteed. But then they reach adulthood and the reality of low wages, high housing costs, economic stagnation, plus it becomes more and more apparent that that manosphere crap is only impressive to children, and they start sliding leftward in their politics.
