I love that in so many games with dogs or cats, you can pet the domestic animal and sometimes snuggle it or boop the snoot, but I don’t want “can you pet the dog”, I want “can you hug the bear”!
That thing doesn’t look much like a baby bear, like I initially pictured, but it still looks really cuddle shaped. I want to scritch behind his ears and boop his beak and pick him up for a hug. Looks like a weird combination of bird feathers and fluffy fur, I really want to know what that fuzz feels like to pet and snuggle.
(Back on topic with “historical accuracy” vs fanservice in games… If a fantasy/historical setting has wolves, or any other historical ancestor to modern domestic animals and farm livestock, you should be able to feed the critters and win their affection with belly rubs. Which should be fully animated. What? It’s historically accurate!)
You can hug him at one point in the story while he’s in human form but I don’t think there’s ever the option to cuddle him in bear form.
Awww, that really sucks.

There’s an owlbear you can pet, if that counts for anything.
Awwww! Cute!
Do owlbears have bear ears? Anything with those ears is very fun to pet. Scritch shaped ears!
It’s got those owl horn tuft things.
That’s almost better than bear ears!
