The funny part is this photo is actually from Pennsylvania and so much of the state is exactly this, and it bleeds into larger america.

There are numerous parts of Canada that look like that. The logos are somewhat different as we have a lot of Canada-specific food/retail chains, but I could drive on any highway in the country and find an exit that leads to basically this exact photo. Shit sucks and is everywhere.

as far as I have gathered these homes are not built to appeal to “white” buyers, they’re built to appeal to Chinese “admirers” of the western aesthetic

That’s the same reason why they created Paris in their country. People like to visit there, but living there, umm - different thing.

I’ve seen stuff like that in Japan and Korea already. They’re more treated like tourist locations for the locals more than anything. the “german” village I visited in the ROK was very meh but funny enough you could actually buy one of the houses there and live there. You’d have to deal with all the old people touring your front lawn and gawking at your house all the time though. incredibly funny stuff

lmfao the cracker conceit. they think china is just chomping at the bit to get westerners there, as if they don’t have a massive and highly educated population that has little to gain from taking westerners in, which is why they barely do it. no, they didn’t build those houses for you. they built them for chinese people to live in. i also love this idea that brown people leaving their homes that the whites in question have destroyed is somehow bad and an invasion but racist whites who have been openly hostile to china and are hostile to the chinese way of life should just be allowed to go there, no problem, and the government should set up housing that looks like what they’re used to in krakkkerland

I just think China knows how much it’s won economics overall and setting up nice familiar housing for dumb whitey who can’t figure out how to run a successful economic system is somewhere between showing them kindness and humiliating them. Kind of like putting them in a zoo.

look at the chinese just mogging on the whole west, like, they’re like “we’re gonna live like the west, but better”

sure it’s some theme park town Westworld shit but I bet it’s clean, well designed, good infrastructure, etc.

i would totally live in some kind of inverse of that, like a siheyuan type of deal, that i landscape down to the micrometer with pavers/hardscaping to have a courtyard under the dappled sunlight of a ginko tree, lights strung at night between the structures.

    and grill out.

Slop aside, who the fuck wants to live in these theme parks?

Let’s say the houses and urban design are good and nice, but still, why building a theme-park neighborhood? Influences and inspirations are good, but c’mon

    (I particularly hate bungalows)
