I don’t get comments like these.

It’s incredibly easy to prove that charlie kirk was a racist, sexist and fascist, to the point where no one who liked him actually think those are bad things. Maybe a decade or so ago I could see the point of doing this little theatre for the sake of more “respectable” conservatives who cared about optics, but today’s mainstream conservatism just says the quiet part out loud, so who is this for?

Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

You underestimate just how brain melted the average American is, especially Americans who describe themselves as conservatives. Fascism is background radiation to them. They no longer feel it. Racism is so deep in their bones they don’t recognize it in others unless it’s someone screaming the n-word, but probably not even then. They’re so primed that they didn’t recognize Musk’s salute as a Nazi gesture.

Like sure there are a lot of cynics, and conservatives often are simply doing a game because they have no true beliefs other than white supremacy. But the average conservative is absolutely cooked and pudding brained. They see someone like Kirk and simply don’t hear the racism. Maybe because they know even worse racists, maybe because they have zero thoughts in their head. The major reason is because America is so fucking racist that someone like Charlie Kirk seems like a well spoken middle ground to more overt racists

The bigger, more ridiculous the lie, the bigger and better display of in-group fascist loyalty

If it looks like right wing influencer and politicians are competing to tell the biggest fattest lie, it’s because they are.

This isn’t for anyone, fascists have melted their brains and sincerely believe this.

I think the prominent Dems like Obama coming out and condemning it is maybe signalling to the capitalist class that they’re fine with fascism?
