If I’m being honest, Tucker is, at best, going to turn out to be one of those imperial-core social fascists with economically socdem, and anti-China pro-Russian characteristics.
Not rlly someone I’d critically support, unlike someone like Robert Fico, who I can def crit. support.
And Michael Hudson - is he even ML? Last time I listened to him, besides the finance stuff and reading of Capital and other classical economics, he doesn’t really consider himself that. In fact, I’d say he’s the type to consider MLs as we know em ‘Stalinist’, judging by his recent interviews with Robinson Erhardt
For those that don’t know, Hudson is literally Trotsky godson, his parents were OG trotskyists in the US.
I’ve listened him for a long time because he is honestly a good teacher of monetary economics, but his actual views are very close to the usual american patsocs views, although moderate without the jingoistic crap, but it boils down to bring back american industrial capitalism.
Just out of curiosity, what would you support about Fico that you wouldn’t about Tucker’s hypothetical stance? I don’t know much about him, but he seems like your average pro-Russia politician within the EU / empire, let’s say.
To me, if the cards are played right, the good thing that Robert Fico can do is move away from the US-led West’s umbrella, and further embrace ties with China and Russia.
That’s one thing, besides being a governing socdem - publicly opposed to the design of neoliberalism, unlike other more pro-European and pro-American forces.
Materially, this is fine (though social democracy shouldn’t be the end-all be-all)
With Tucker Carlson, while he still believes in the US-led West’s hegemony and political economy, but media savvy he is,
he tries to co-opt any discontent on the west with economically left-reformist and foreign policy dovish views, only to rally all this back into a narrative of returning to the good ol’ days of America and focusing their hatred on the main rival that is China.
Michael Hudson will make Tucker a ML and he will lead the proletariat revolution in the United States.
You mean the patsoc revolution.
I think you’re kidding, right.

Well, that’s a good question

Obviously, I can’t say much about their views on cultural policy.
