lol imagining some rich asshole spend 80k(?) on a car that comes preloaded with bloatware is hilarious
i drive a scion. it costed 5000 dollars. it looks cool and it has toyota reliability. it doesn’t advertise to me. i just do not get how shit like this mercedes has a market. who is buying these new cars knowing they all have this bullshit preloaded into them?
This is one of my favorite parts of the gadget era that I’ve been thinking about a lot lately - that no matter how rich and powerful any person is, they still just have an iPhone like anyone else. Like maybe it’s gold-plated or maybe they have the fancy folding android stuff, but they still have to use the same stupid bullshit enshittified garbage the rest of us do. Like, their TV might be a hundred inches and 16k, but it’s still just hooked up to an apple TV box at the end of the day, and they still have to use that trashy little remote and wrestle with the awful voice commands to get it to do anything, same as anyone else.
Cars and houses and stuff are a little different, but gadgets really only get so much better even with infinite money. And that does feel kinda nice to think about.

Rich people who pay people to drive for them.
Or petit bourgeois people who want to look rich but can’t afford an actual rich person’s car.
