      Failure implies that it didn’t go as planned, but it mostly did. It just so happened that the plan mostly did not involve uprooting Nazism beyond a couple dozen sacrificial executions. The western powers needed people for the “new” West German military, for the UN and later NATO, and for the CIA and Mossad. Ultimately their opposition to Nazi Germany was purely political and not ideological, because it was just a natural extension of normal western ideology and the brutality that they are happy to see inflicted on billions so long as the billions aren’t in white countries (and sometimes if they are, like with homosexuals).
