I dont disagree with China banning onlyfans, but i find the rhetoric they use extremely troubling. It is the same rhetoric used by fascists and other social conservatives to justify crackdowns on queer rights and expression.

i could be convinced that rhetoric like “social order” is inherently fashy but ultimately it seems like it mostly depends on the broader social context, doesn’t it? i couldn’t tell you a thing about china but it seems like the meaning behind the words probably isn’t the same

It is troubling, but still most of us don’t live in China, don’t have Chinese citizenship or don’t pay taxes directly to China. It is their internal affair and they don’t force other countries to adopt their policies like West

Until I see some official sources, I won’t believe that they’re calling it “western moral decay” or whatever they’re quoting it as. It wouldn’t be the first time western media intentionally mistranslates or outright fabricates quotes.

China has reactionary elements in its leadership at least since Zemin, if not Deng. They deserve critical support but let’s not pretend that they aren’t led by rightists who would have been sent to the countryside if Mao was still around
