Some context, which I’m sure will be downvoted because we don’t like chat control.

The Danes currently hold the rotating presidency for the council. As such they are required to be the architects of the council position, good initiatives and bad.

The EU holds countries that are against government access to chat services and countries that believe access should be routine and warrant-free.

The Danish “architect of chat control” is thus required, by EU law, to define a compromise position and see if that can be voted through in the council.

The compromise position is a combination of “scanning at source” using both known fingerprints and AI, with a warrant based access process for police sources.

As a compromise position that’s possible passable in parliament and council.

I personally think the whole thing the entire thing is unworkable in practice. But the Danes are getting involved because they have to.

That was the foundational concept in powershell; everything is an object. They then went a ruined it with insane syntax and a somewhat logical, but entirely in practiceimpractical verb-noun command structure.

If the dollar store invaded other countries for territorial gain, then yes I would expect you to boycott the dollar store.

But it could make itself less dependent on Russian oil. Many western countries chose to go through an expensive and painful transition to move away from Russian gas. These are choices Hungary could also make but refuses to do. So it’s only as dependent as it wishes to be and it clearly wishes to be a lot.

How is it in Hungary’s interest to support Russia?

EU expects Hungary to fulfil promises to act like an EU state.

Until we move away from FPTP, new parties are as much a risk as they are a boon.

And then, yes, big parties change when little parties threaten them (UKIP vs Tory, classic example) but wouldn’t it just be so much easier if you knew your vote wouldn’t be wasted and you could express your opinion freely in the voting booth and expect to see results in parliament?

It’s no wonder people feel disconnected from politics in the UK.
