Ow. That hit hard. I once knew someone from Ukraine living in the West after the USSR fell. We lost touch. They always said they were Russian. I can’t imagine what they must be feeling, either.

Wow. I’m really sorry you have to experience things like this and maybe worse. I can’t begin to imagine how you must feel. Perhaps you could send what you wrote here to your friend (maybe they are truly unaware this is pure propaganda?), and if they reject it or refuse to discuss it rationally, then it may be better to find other friends.

So, we’re seeing both the spread of right wing and the rise of right-wing dynamics around the world. We’re also seeing an increasing number of people waking up and standing against it. Ultimately, how history will decide, I can’t predict. I’m just saying I’m seeing both trends, and the only question is not what’s going to happen in the long term, nobody knows, it’s where do we stand today? Where does each one of us stand today? That’s the only decision that’s in front of us.

Nice language in a thread about ableism.

A bell and fuzzy hat. Winter is coming!

Congratulations and you’re going to be great!

My major part paid of a community project is finished. I learned a lot about myself during this time. Now it’s time to rest and process for a bit, get neglected personal projects back on track, before the next as yet unknown thing. I still have a roof over my head, food in the kitchen, energy to prepare it, and internet to converse with good people who help me broaden my horizons. Life is good.

More information please. I’ve no idea where to look for credible information.

She described the EU’s actions not as a deterrent, but as “an encouragement to move forward,” rejecting the bloc’s attempt to silence her voice.
Yes. We get knocked down, we get up and take another step, ad infinitum.
Fair point
Plausible deniability is a hell of a drug.
Is this Israel pushing US or US pushing Israel?

We seem to have to repeat this lesson every 80 years or so. When we’ve learned it well enough so we stay vigilant, even the fifth generation, maybe we’ll crush the head of the snake, rather than beat it back.

Hezbollah should never surrender their means of defense.

This seems to be the case in the USA. The bus depot a few towns over had the food bank set up weekly for evening departure, but I’ve not kept up with whether they’re still doing it or as often.

Weird, rambling read and I literally brushed my teeth, after reading it.

Thank you!

Al shabab too, I’m guessing.
I feel like Vietnam will come to regret this.
