People have been talking about thorium for a loong time. There are still problems with the molten salt design, but even the current problematic designs are more efficient than current nuclear reactors. It looks like first shipments of highly tariffed stuff are just arriving. The big tariff increase (10% on everything, higher on China) was on April 5th, but tariffs applied only on products that left the port of the originating country (China, EU, etc) on April 6th or later.
