This is pretty funny. China probably agreed to return to the status quo which makes trump come out looking like an idiot who overplayed his hand and the damage to the american economic reputation is done.
So looks like they dropped the tariffs to 30% and China dropped theirs to 10%. Still funny, but was hoping China would just force them to drop them entirely.
Its a 90 day pause. So if China stonewalls the negotiations then Trump is going to look like a yo-yo. And new tariffs would come back on just in time for the shelves to be emptied by christmas retail season.
This could end up better than trump just backing down.
Exactly, also this is gonna keep markets nervous because nobody knows what happens after 90 days. So, the US will have a hard time recruiting countries against China in the meantime.
I don’t know much about economics but this feels worse than no deal. What I do know is that I want to play poker with trump.
