    This was my exact thought. Feels like the peasants who thought that if the Tsar knew what was really going on he would fix things, so they complained against particular ministers or bureacracies but not the tsar and the system itself.

      They did that in France, too. They didn’t behead Louis for being the king. They did it because he conspired to bring in foreign armies to overthrow the revolution. Big time oopsie.
