it’s just weird to me when people confuse a political commentator with no particular allegiance to an org or tendency to demonstrate principled vanguardism or something. i personally don’t put any emotional value in bourgeois electoralism that isn’t attached to a disciplined vanguard party, but that’s my prerogative. on the gradations within electoral politics, lander has demonstrated a certain greater tendency towards humanitarianism than his opponent. i personally expect little of lander beyond probably voting somewhat progressively, probably voting against arming the zionist entity. but from the perspective of vanguardism, i’d rather be raising the class consciousness of a brad lander supporter than an active aipac ghoul supporter. for brad lander, it’s obvious that he knows he’s a fascist, when he gets grilled by more vicious zionists, he has no answers for them that sound reasonable. they’re able to bash against the obvious contradictions of liberal zionism, like that he thinks “globalize the intifada” is somehow inciting violence against jewish people, but he refuses to condemn it. he’s said that israel is committing a genocide, but he opposes BDS. if i’m in new york dsa, i’m asking myself why my org has no discipline and is willing to engage with these light social fascists.

Not really, no? He engages with Democrats, but he’s a large political commentator and that’s what his audience is stuck on. He’s shitting on the Dems for being useless, incompetent, and captured all the time.

not as much with PSL candidates that i personally would like, but definitely with people that are outside of the democratic party proper. it’s also not like his coverage begins with, ends with, or is contingent upon electoralism within the democratic party? offering coverage of elections isn’t the same as vote liberalism and reality-terminating democratic party terminalism, especially not in this godforsaken country where party membership isn’t real and co-opting democratic seats on the ballot without mainstream party support is allowed.
