When you’re taking pictures of yourself, don’t use a mirror, it’ll double the dirt and distort you. Just put your phone on a little tripod (very cheap) at waist level roughly 6 feet away, and use the self-timer. Try not to go any lower, that’s how you look like a giant with a chin. Too high above you, and you can look like you have a massive had, and a small body.

Face the light source, not away from it, and diffuse lighting is generally better.

There’s loads of posing guides out their, generally just try to get your whole body standing up. Maybe hit THE POSE.

Oops, forgot to hit post when I first finished, no matter.

I popped some benadryl, and I’m gonna try taking them at injection time next week provided I can remember to do that. I’m a little concerned that I’ll have to find an alternate source; this happened on my last injection, which was 2 weeks ago, and it only barely had time to get better over those two weeks, despite taking Benadryl multiple times.

Maybe you’d also benefit from some allegra or claritin (generics are fine) to take in the morning, since those don’t cause drowsiness like benadryl.

When it’s time to get more vials, it might be a good idea for you to get something made with castor oil or another alternate oil, if that’s possible for you. If your current vial has benzyl benzoate, you might try to avoid that too since some people find it irritating.

Also, are you exercising right before or after doing your injections? Physical exertion can aggrivate an allergic reaction.

        Thanks for the advice!

Last time I started with Claritin and it didn’t do much of anything, so this time I went straight for benadryl. As far as I can tell it’s not really doing much either. The only thing that has felt helpful is the topical benadryl cream that I put on it last time.

The stuff I’ve got has benzyl alcohol, but no benzyl benzoate per the docs. I haven’t been exercising before or after. I did go for a run yesterday, so maybe that helped set it off, but I was about a day and a half post injection at that point.

I’ve got a pretty solid stash at the moment, so I might not wait for it to run out before trying to find something with castor oil… I don’t want to be itchy for a couple years haha.

Quick heads up on the antihistamines like claratynre you can take way more than the box advises like 4 at a time. I used to work with people getting desensitizing injections for their allergies and some would take under doctors advice 2-4 antihistamines in the morning prior to their afternoon injections.

This is not medical advice in any way. But if it was me I’d take like 4 non sedating antihistamines in the morning of my injection and give them a few hours to be floating around. A heat pack on the injection site once it had stopped bleeding would also help settle any reaction (it seems contradictory but heat causes vasodilation and helps settle inflammation).
