    The only thing I can think of to make such a change is if your computer was set to a power-saving mode and was just unset from that. Or just overclocking everything so that you have no assurance of stability in the system + a lot more heat.

    So, in other words, you will not get his claimed benefit.

      Another thing I can think of is if his RAM wasn’t set up correctly and was running at a lower clock speed. Is that worth 200+ FPS? Definitely not.

      It will just be overclocking, that’s all he’s doing that’ll make a difference. Which like you say, a lot more heat, a lot less stability, and probably opens them up to liability when it breaks half the components within a year (or bricks them immediately if he accidentally turns it up too high).
