So the same incredibly reasonable demand he’s had since before Russia’s entry into the war?
The same request Russia’s made since the dissolution of the USSR
Pretty sure it has also been broken many times over the years
Well, before they seemed okay with it enlarging if they could be in it. But other than that, ya, what you said.
What are the probabilites of this pledge ending up like Minsk 1&2?
I can’t see Russia falling for that again after having invested so much in the war for the past three years. I expect that Russia plans to dictate terms to the west from a position of strength this time around.
it’s never been more joever
Cease your embiggenment
OH MY GOD JUST WIN THE FUCKIN WAR ALREADY, DAMN!!!
Attrition plays in Russia’s favor, and it greatly reduces potential with an open conflict with the west as well. The status quo is that NATO keeps feeding weapons into Ukraine at a faster rate than they can replace them which is leading to demilitarization of NATO itself now.
That’s a good point, the drain on NATO resources is a benefit to Russia as long as Russia is able to continue in a sustainable manner. Kind of the reverse outcome from the Western intention to set Ukraine up as another 1980s Afghanistan.
Indeed, and it’s also worth keeping in mind that the current state of the war benefits China as well since the US is unable to focus on Asia while stuck in Ukraine. Chinese support has been a big reason for why Russia is doing far better than the west economically right now.
