I still think XP was the last good Windows. But that’s probably because I never really used 7, 8 really sucked, 10 wasn’t great, and 11 is, well, if you know you know.
Did you know that themes for several popular Linux DEs exist to make them look like old versions of Windows? And there’s collections of all the classic Windows XP system sounds online, that can be a very easy drop in replacement if your distro/DE has a graphical settings tool for that? I know that can encourage bad habits and treating Linux like Windows, but I think it’s neat. It’s definitely the system sounds that really make it complete, at least for me.
Every other version as a farce.
