I have believed that peace in Ukraine means having to give up claims to parts of eastern Ukraine.

I had hoped that perhaps the Trump administration would at least not be like the Biden administration, but frankly I had forgotten how America never keeps anything it promised under Trump (Iran nuclear deal torn up, and now the American hostage exchange with Hamas) OR the Biden administration.

So I’m not sure where we go from here. I don’t see a peace deal being made.

I can’t really determine how much of Europe’s talk about Russia and Ukraine is posturing and how much is serious, if they actually got called on it. They’re right there so any “limited exchange” wouldn’t really feel that limited.

Considering the huge defense budget, official war economies, and defence projects being given to companies all over Europe, I don’t believe it’s just posturing.

Europe is invested in this imperialistic war and they want to get their share of the pie at the cost of as many Ukranians as it takes I guess.
