My pick: The Silence of the Lambs

Literally never got the hype, it’s an aggressively mid movie. Not scary. No deeper message. Just a snoozefest of a movie.

Bonus Pick: The Godfather

Although I did like the movie, I didn’t think it was top tier like its commonly placed. There’s a ton of pro-AmeriKKKan propaganda and undertones in it as well.

Bonus bonus pick: The Matrix

I can see why people enjoyed it, the themes are interesting first time around. I just found the action scenes and Keanu Reeves character incredibly cringy. Kind of ruined it for me.

Alright Hexbear what are the most overrated movies in your opinion? Feel free to call me an uncultured pleb in the comments too.

Airplane felt like I was going thru a theme park ride being presented with various dioramas, not a huge fan

Well if I go watch those now, it will be like watching Lynch movies before seeing the Italian movies that deformed his mind. It feels weird like “oh he wanted that kind of guy, but being a different guy”

Yeah, don’t bother. I’m just saying that when it came out movie goers had seen at least a couple of the sourse flicks and certainly saw ads for the rest. There’s no point in seeing the orginals because they were never very good. Without reference points to what it spoofs, Airplane! has to lose most its humor and instead just feel like a bunch of hype over nothing.

I wouldn’t hype it up that much, but I can already guarantee that you didn’t even notice at least 30% of the jokes. It’s a film that can be further appreciated with rewatches (much like Police Squad, though I’d argue that’s much better anyway).
