I keep seeing posts pop up that I relate to, then I look down and it’s from an ADHD community. Either these are experiences everyone has… Or I have undiagnosed ADHD

I deleted the bird app off phone and deleted my shitposting account and it’s freed up so much time, I’ve started reading again.

It was sorta reading before, but then I started just getting better at it when my attention wasn’t being stolen. I challenged myself to finishing a book in 4 days while taking notes and it was honestly really fun and I was really pumped when I finished.

It’s a skill but also a muscle if that makes sense. I don’t think adhd inherently makes reading harder, but it definitely makes it harder to get into the groove.

      exactly!

I still do the shit from the meme occasionally, but i also gulped a 27 tome light novel in 4 days. You just gotta enter the flow whan reading.

It happens to me every time I pick up a book. If you can hold your focus for a page or two, then it starts to flow. Once you have the flow, as long as you’re not in a very distracting place, its smooth sailing.

This or sit down to read a chapter before bed, look up and it’s 6 hours later and I have to pee and I haven’t touched my glass of water and my alarm goes off in 4 hours

    Never in between

Gotta push through it. Most people only retain like 80% of what they read anyway, sometimes it takes my eyes a little while to wake up to what im making them do. Sometimes it takes a page but its better to find your groove after struggling, rather than getting stressed out because you can’t process every word right away.

Reading is a skill that takes practice.

Everyone’s struggles are different though, but that’s my experience
