They nailed most of the stereotypes but are Apple and HP really considered partisan by anyone?
apple: smart, creative class, upwardly mobile, affluent, NPR
HP: poor, rust belt, shouting about the propane bill, Luke Bryant, ketchup sandwiches, applying to job at Walmart, “you’re not my real dad”
I feel like Dell is more the PC brand for boomers who just want a machine to send emails and post racist facebook memes.
I bet half those people are still rocking their old cow colored Gateways.
Honestly, Apple I think is definitely associated with “coastal elites” but I think they just put HP because it’s not like there’s an immediately obvious chud tech company. I’d like to think HP = Israel = chud is why they did it but that’s probably not the real reason.
Apple is definitely NPR coded. I guess HP is just a non-Apple manufacturer although I think Dell is probably better as a generic non-Apple company.
