The nicest place that he could probably end up is in the 4th Circle, for Greed, but probably his most characteristic sin is also the lowest circle, that being the 8th, Fraud (broadly defined to include things like corrupt politicians, not just the modern legal term). Probably the highest circle he could argue for is 5, Wrath, because he sure did use his platform to advocate for violence against Muslims.
No shot he goes to Purgatory. He mangled the Bible way too much for something like that, and he died too quickly to realistically recant.

To look at it in as an American patriot Charlie was 9th circle. Treachery and treason. He twisted the first amendment into a slow moving riot yelling fire in his own theatre.
