Any post in the vegan comm in which a carnist barges in to start shit with us. Literally the inciting incident that made me first apply for a position as a moderator. Thankfully it’s gotten a lot less common now that the most belligerent carnists have either been banned from the comm or driven off the site for their other reactionary views.
I feel like is always those types that complain about vegans pushing their views on others (it’s usually just the vegan existing in their own spaces/events)
I feel that with most comments on the vegan comm to be honest, even if they’re not trying to start shit. I’m so tired of reading comments from people who clearly have no idea what veganism even is replying to posts on the vegan comm with terrible analysis or patronising “advice”.
I was going to reply to a couple of them recently, but I felt I’d have to sugarcoat my comments so much to not offend them or hijack the OPs’ posts that I just deleted what I wrote and moved on.
If you feel like any such comments are stepping over the line, don’t hesitate to report them!
Lemmy is honestly more hostile than reddit for vegans which is wild. Even hexbear, which has explicit endorsement of animal liberation in the code of conduct, is full of people who are acutely hostile.
