Something many people from México say jokingly is that the US is so clean (in regards to the highways) that whenever you drive into the US, you no longer have to wipe bugs off the front of your car, so there may be some truth on that lol
It’s something we’ve noticed here to. If you went on a long drive a couple decades ago you’d have to clean all the bugs off you’re car. Now it’s eirey how clean they can be even after driving across a state
depends on the season… i drove from utah to california a couple summers ago and hit swarms of bugs so thick I had to stop at each and every gas station on the highway for at least 30 miles to clean the windshield so I could see enough to drive.
also there was some plague of mormon crickets that was so thick in utah that traction control kept freaking out and giving me mini-heart attacks as we slid down the highway
if i hadn’t seen it with my own eyes i’d never have believed it

I’ve heard this is mostly due to pesticides - they’ve basically sterilized all farmland at this point.
