yeah they are also building a “fusion reactor” in washington state to do the same
some new revolutionary “pulse fusion” design i think it may be a grift
isn’t like 1/3 of the U.S. gdp data center related right now? where i live it’s the only construction happening, and it’s cutting across ideological lines (everyone fucking hates them equally)
miracle fusion projects projecting timetables acceptable to the short term needs of tech companies are just scams, the ungodly amounts of capital needed for the prototypes came from states and those are not finished/refined enough for a private company to steal their homework
absolutely. i’ve been skeptical of their reactor design since they announced it and even they are admitting they don’t have capacitors powerful enough.
nothing wrong with experimental reactor designs. i mean there might be something to pulse fusion reactors. but to promise a functional, profitable commercial reactor in 3 years is laughable
i don’t think any nation but China is going to successfully deploy a commercial reactor and that’s because they can plan long term. it’s obvious they are already planning to do thorium fission, which will help create fusion fuel (as well as more thorium). they even hedged their bets with their lunar landers verifying He3 on the far side (although not yet commercially viable to crack, if ever)
honestly, critical support to these people defrauding the AI ghouls with this, the kind of rubes who think the real, profitable AI is around every corner are perfect marks for a technological confidence scheme

I don’t believe any fusion news that isn’t coming out of China
