Unless they larp with swastikas and Hitler salutes, Americans cannot identify Nazis. They talk to their 50-year-old Democrat neighbor who is pro-cop, against “race mixing”, and anti-union and so long this neighbor is friendly they think, “oh that’s just a different generation”.
I am reminded of a Robert Fedvans Behind the Bastards episode I listened to many years ago about “the little nazis: the nice, reasonable people who made the Holocaust possible.”
In the context at the time, I made the connection that this was a dire warning about how conservatives were perfectly capable of doing a genocide here. And the way a lot of radlibs took it, too.
But then liberals did genocide in Palestine, and it turns out that episode, while probably not intended to be about liberals, describes them too.
That saying about if you sit at a table and one Nazi sits down and nobody beats his ass, you don’t have one Nazi, you have 10 applies here too. The liberals defend their genocidal fellow party members, and in so doing damn themselves. The Democratic Party is the party of genocide.
idk where I’m going with this, it’s a set of disconnected sentences that have some connection I’m too tired to articulate right now.
The Holocaust was made possible by the everyday Germans outside of the Nazi party and not part of the military or police. They were the ones who snitched on their neighbors hiding Jews. They were the ones who took part in the public executions not at dissimilar to lynchings of black people in the United States. They profited from the war that was plundering its way through Europe.
It’s no different here. Liberals, like the Germans who aided the nazis in the Holocaust, are aiding reactionaries to genocide Gaza and deport undesirables out of the US. The only difference is they aren’t getting compensation for their complicity the way the Germans did. They’re doing this for free.
Yes. And I don’t get why. There must be something they get out of doing this. Some psychological or emotional benefit, at least. But I don’t know what it could be. Maybe it just let’s them keep believing in the lie that everything will be fine, they’ll be safe from fascism if they abet fascism.
Americans can’t identify Nazis even if they’re larping with swastikas and Hitler Salutes. They just say “Oh that’s just Ukrainian culture”. It certainly fucking isn’t, Ukraine did the more to defeat the Nazis than any western ally.
Libs have adopted the conservative thing from like 2017 where actually nobody is a nazi and there’s no such thing as nazis anymore, and actually you’re just a crazy SJW tankie who calls anyone who simply disagrees a fascist. Back when this strategy was directed at them they made an entire Breadtube about it, but now that they’re directing it at us they’ve all developed amnesia.
I’m just waiting to hear one say "Erm, but I’m not a member of the National Socialist party in 1930s Germany " and the great wheel of chuddification will have completed another cycle.
No no, they’re not nazis, they’re just making the hard decisions and doing what’s grimly necessary to protect the Nation from enemies and ah fuck

Agreed! And it all made sense to me.

I’ve just been assuming it’s 8 years, 20 years, 60 years of sunk costs
happy posting day
Thanks! Best and most wholesome online space I’ve ever been in
