Eh even if this does go through idgaf. Dnd (and other pen&paper RPGs) are so player driven it doesn’t really matter who owns it. Don’t like the current edition? There’s like 5 - 7 editions of dnd depending how you count them, a few pathfinder editions, and countless other role playing games out there, take your pick and find a group.
Hell, maybe it would kick off a renaissance if people didn’t default to dnd as The role playing game. I’d love to get a Shadowrun game together some day…
It is, I had a couple short lived games in highschool when I was the Designated GM and used the fact no one else wanted to run the games to force my group to branch out (especially since this was during 4e and I got tired of that real fast) but I haven’t managed to find anyone interested since. Shadowrun Returns/Dragonfall/Hong Kong scratch the itch a little but it’s like comparing playing Balders Gate to actually playing Dnd with your friends.
The combination of magic and cyberpunk is so fucking cool I don’t know how more people aren’t grabbed by it. Who doesn’t want to play a game where you’re slinging fireballs at cop cars while your chummers are freeing awakened critters from a corporate black site?
No idea, I haven’t kept up with any dnd announcements since the first couple sourcebooks for 5e. If anything I’d be more interested in 3.5 or pathfinder if I can find a group but people seem the most willing to play 5e so that’s what I’ve been rolling with when I have a chance to play
Oh my b lol, my answer is still very similar, I haven’t kept up with new editions since 5e/4e anniversary so I don’t know anything about 6e. I’m most familiar with 4e & 5e but it’s been years since I even glanced at the rules, without a group to play with I end up reading the fluff/lore more

I haven’t read or with 6e at all, any idea how it is compared to 5e?

I meant Shadowrun 6e, sorry for the confusion!
