fucking hate how every piece of footage I’ve seen has been “lol, mexicans cant drive boats!!!” comments when the footage has an engine powered boat moving backwards into the bridge
like shit yeah, maybe in a better case scenario the anchor could have been dropped faster or whatever, but this clearly isn’t just someone steering wrong
I see a tugboat moving alongside in some of the videos. There has also been reports of the ship losing power. Sounds like a lot of failures piling up together to create this accident. Some of those were on the ship, but also possibly from the tugboat(s) and crews.
I learned this here on chapo.chat but apparently the difference between just taking out a bridge and not doing that can be like 15 seconds of power
