meanwhile I can’t even commit to doing an evil run on the RPGs I play, I literally have zero extra fun playing as an asshole as opposed to playing as a decent person
is it a matter of personality, or is the evil path in most games just stupid cartoonish cruelty for its own sake? or both? I think it has to be both
Funnily enough, I remember trying to do a renegade playthrough of Mass Effect 1
First opportunity you have is on the first mission, where you’re trying to figure out what’s going on. There’s a pair of scientists hiding in a building, one of them understandably freaked out, and apparently without his medication. The renegade option (which I learned in real time) is rifle butting the guy into unconsciousness
I did an all evil party in Baldur’s Gate 1&2, but the alignment system is so bare bones that you don’t have to be puppy kickers all the time - you can just be a weird band of misfits.

I didn’t get past that
Would you like to:
Paragon: Not be a fascist?
Renegade: Be a fascist?
“omg this game is so deep!”
Or constantly shouting in-world slurs at hanar.
Like seriously, last time i had fun doing it was KotOR 1.
”This game has you do moral choices that shape how your player character is portrayed in the story.”
Choices are literally ”save everyone” and ”kill everyone”.
“This game is gritty and realistic and shows how morality is a blurry gray zone”
If you take a moment to save this cute kitten you actually doom an entire village to being pillaged and burned to the ground
Will you blow a town up using a mini-nuke for reasons or dont.
Tis truly the most nuanced morality choice of them all!!
I’ve heard these types of moral choices called “Save the cat kick the dog” or something like that
I’m right there with you. When I was a kid I always played evil but as an adult I can’t do it.
I did an all evil party in Baldur’s Gate 1&2, but the alignment system is so bare bones that you don’t have to be puppy kickers all the time - you can just be a weird band of misfits.
today’s your cake day, great opportunity to do an all-evil party
