They have a procedure in place that if Israel attacks the boat or captures the activist crew they’ll immediately begin a hunger strike. Both to pressure their home governments into potential action and to avoid Israel being able to use food (and water) as a propaganda tool like they did with the Greta voyage.

Oh, okay, I see. Yeah, negation is funny in English, usually it’s less ambiguous to just use positive statements like “I hope everyone survives like last time.”
No one died on the previous one. But back in 2010 there was a freedom flotilla like this and Israeli naval commandos boarded and murdered at least 10 unarmed people and wounded dozens more. So it’s a very real threat.
We know the occupation is working with armed gangs inside Gaza that steal aid, would it be in Israel’s interests to allow the boat to dock but then use its internal gang proxies to raid the boat and terrorize the volunteers?
I don’t mean to be a downer, I just can’t imagine Israel will allow the siege to be broken.
I’m also constantly curious why they don’t just let these boats land to make it appear like they’re not withholding aid then have the gangs steal it and blame it on Hamas. Most States would be able to point to that and say they were successful in pressuring the Zionists to allow entry of aid, which would be a win for Zionist allies and a PR win for the Zionists.
I’m guessing they keep stopping the boats to appeal to Zionists at home which want the cruelty, maybe some even truly believe Hamas is stealing the aid when those stories publish so they want Netanyahu to stop the boats to prevent Hamas from getting aid. I think it must be due to domestic pressure, because it would be a win internationally.
Now that the ship has been intercepted I think you’re right. There are domestic interests that would revolt if the ship was allowed to land, even if Israeli aligned gangs stole all the aid. It’s not enough to starve the people, Israelis demand the spectacle.

These people are extremely brave. There really is nothing stopping Israel from just wholesale slaughtering them and blowing the boat up. There would be a little outrage for a news cycle and then nothing would happen and that would be the end of it.
