Spielburg never read the Bardo Thodle before making that movie. Tbf, I hadn’t yet, either.
I suppose it would have given a new meaning, or a different understanding, of the chaos in the film. Come to think of it (been a long time since I have seen the film) I can’t remember if there was a slant to any one religion injected in the film. Seems like it was very vaguely worded, ‘passing over to the other side,’ ‘angry spirits,’ and the ‘beast.’
I can’t remember, but I did love the movie. Crowley said the same things, basically.
