So they have to come up with reasons why things aren’t working, but they don’t want to change the actual systems in place. In their minds, capitalism is fine. It’s the women and minorities who are causing capitalism not to work.
Since they don’t use material analysis, they inevitably end up creating conspiracies and a web of contradictory lies. “Why are movies so shit? It can’t be because studios only invest billions into what appeals to the largest number of people. Clearly it’s because such and such superhero or actor is black/feeeeemale/gay/supports trans rights/whatever boogeyman and if you point this out, you get canceled!”
