“I felt like a Nazi… it looked exactly like we were actually the Nazis and they were the Jews” - Israel newspaper, Haaretz, publishes testimonies from Israeli soldiers

There are graphic details in the article which is a ‘‘shot and cry’’ style literary work

      Not major spoilers but:

      spoiler

It’s not Superman himself, it’s the movie (although it’s not ‘anti-Jew’, it’s anti-Israeli); Barovia is a US ally and they’re being armed by the US and they’re invading a brown country (that actually looks and sounds more Indian than Middle Eastern but Israelis probably can’t tell different brown people apart). There’s a ton of bureaucracy yelling down Superman for getting involved and stopping the Barovian army early on in the movie.

Like I said in another post, I didn’t see it at all until I saw comments from people here on hexbear. I thought they were doing a Russia-Ukraine comparison. The only facts we have are, 1) one country is the aggressor and the other is the defender, and 2) the aggressor is technically a US ally, and 3) they’re doing it to “save the people of the land from their leaders” or something like that, which I know is something everyone says when they invade (see recent Iran bombing) but I felt it was more of a thing Russia says than Israel lately (until the Iran bombing lol).

The fact that Zionists immediately jump to say “Hey! That’s us!” is hilarious. Admittedly the defenders look Middle-Eastern, which is probably the biggest hint I missed.

Why should anybody still take Herzlians’ opinions on antisemitism seriously? Their propaganda strategy is mostly just portraying almost all things non-Zionist in the worst way possible and then passing that off as antiracist activism. Hang gliders, plush cephalopods, black walls, watermelons, ‘from the river to the sea’, &c. &c. Look at how easy it is:

    Good morning.

This is an obvious reference to the terrorist extremist Haitham Hawashleh writing ‘good morning’ on October 7, which was really a secret code for praising or encouraging acts of terrorism and identifying with a terrorist organization. In other words, anybody who says ‘good morning’ is literally saying ‘I want to kill all Jews!’

    Hi.

Hi? As in Sieg HEI-l? Boom! Another antisemite exposed!

    I love you.

The full phrase is ‘I love you… because you’re not Jewish’, so saying ‘I love you’ literally means ‘I want to kill all Jews!’

    Thank you.

The full phrase is ‘Thank you… for not being Jewish.’ You know what that means? That’s right: ‘thank you’ = ‘I want to do another Holocaust!’ That’s literally what everybody is saying when they say that! You can’t say anything that will make me think otherwise!

I’m thinking about getting a degree in architecture.

You know who else wanted a degree in architecture? Adolf Schicklgruber! Pa-pow! Another antisemite exposed!

    I like Superman.

Superman translated to German translates to Übermensch translates to the Holocaust! Slam dunk! Another antisemite exposed!

This is the easiest fucking trick in the motherfucking world. All that it takes is a smidgen of creativity to interpret anything and everything that somebody says in the worst light imaginable while activists have to do the real work of confronting casual antisemites and resisting or deplatforming the violent ones.

Kinda seems like it was ultimately in Israel’s interest that the US would force them to pump the breaks after each escalation and encroachment into Palestine. A few headlines might break through into the general public, but it would be swallowed up just as soon with the normal churn of the news cycle. Hidden by infrequency and “Sounds far away and complicated”. But this time it been allowed to go on for so long, its eclipsed the production cycle of a whole movie. I mean, I don’t expect Superman™ is gonna do much to change hearts & minds, but the mere existence of it has got to be some kinda bellwether.
