i’ve read several books and they almost all have some conveniently white racist side character that can yell Ns and other racial slurs. and most non-white characters talk in some level of uncomfortable racial dialect that’s almost minstrel-level, which is not great when it’s like the green mile and it’s a rural guy from like the 30s, but becomes absurd when it’s a more modern character. the black tower books had a main character with some kind of split personality where one side of her was talking like a 1920s racist cartoon, which was explained in universe as… idk
