My biggest question is: the earliest mention of this guy being in Beijing No. 2 prison was in February, when this was first reported. Any mentions previous to this is some mixology articles that he was interviewed for back in 2016. At no point in between these two dates, does the media report that an Australian national has been falsely detained in China, which would be a huge story. It’s only after he’s been released do we hear that this happened. Also somehow his father picks him up at the airport despite the guy not having access to phones.
