Man what is up with nintendo these days. Maybe they’re salty about how quickly switch emulators became a thing and often ran better than original hardware?

I also think they’re so scared of emulation because Nintendo systems have a great backlog of fun games that might be more worth your time than whatever the newest is. If I had a kid I’d give em a loaded emulation device; no internet, 1000s of games, better battery life, etc. The only reason I could possibly get a switch 2 is for the fromsoft game that’d supposedly pvpve so I suspect it won’t be as fun to come back to years later.

Donkey kong? I’ll play that on my steam deck 3 in 10 years who cares.

What a great legal system where a company can just change their patent mid-case and the case isn’t immediately thrown out of court, but instead the new wording of the patent can be treated as if it were always written like that.

True, admittedly I didn’t play it. At face value I didn’t appreciate the main theme of Pokémon with guns, but honestly, I can appreciate the way they took a satirical angle of the genre.

At the end of the day, different strokes for different folks. Fuck Nintendo for be the way they are.

Creators of edgy “wouldn’t it be cool to be a slaveowner?” game vs. a giant corporation engaging in patent trolling to maintain its monopoly

The japan case against palworld is only $66k damages? That’s hardly going to be an issue for the game given it made millions, Nintendo must be after something else? Precedent? Or perhaps just scaring others to not do any similarly themed pocket monster games that tread in their territory?

Nintendo must be after something else?

You’re actually correct here. Because a couple months before the suit dropped, Pocketpair and Sony announced that they officially have a partnership with eachother, the same kind of partnership Nintendo and Gamefreak have with eachother.

So the best way to think of this is it’s Nintendo vs Sony rather than Nintendo vs Pocketpair. And Nintendo and Sony have a lot of bad blood between eachother.

Realistically Nintendo wants Sony to seriously change course about how they advertise and market Palworld.
